In the beginning, this farm was a very diverse farm consisting of dairy cattle, pigs, chickens and of course horses which were used to pull the machinery for fieldwork. Today the farm consists only of dairy cattle and chickens of which both are allowed to graze freely in our pastures. This grazing results in a higher amount of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). University of Wisconsin confirms that milk from grazed cows can contain up to 500% more Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) than milk from confined cows. CLA is a fatty acid found in milk. Scientific interest in CLA was stimulated about 12 years ago when a University of Wisconsin researcher discovered its cancer-fighting properties in a study. The human body cannot produce CLA, but it can be obtained through foods such as milk, butter, beef, and lamb that has been grass fed and grazed. Our farm has been using biological and sustainable farming practices since 1986 and has been certified organic since 1995. After farming this way for the last 15 years, this is truly the only way we would ever want to farm. It is a very holistic approach and respects all life and recognizes that everything has a meaning, a purpose, and a reason for its existence.

We have now learned to raise crops with better quality, meaning they contain more natural vitamins, minerals and sugars. This promotes better health for both the animals and people who consume these products.

Mother nature really does know best and biological systems such as soils, plants, animals and people can only recognize and utilize substances that are organic in nature. Man made substances generally tend to compromise health.
